Panacea or distraction?

I recently watched a video on the ADHD brain. I did this as my child has ADHD. As he gets further along at school, helping him organise himself is growing more critical. One of the recommendations is to bullet journal, and so down the rabbit hole, I go….

I have now watched so many videos on bullet journaling, and it is fascinating. I watched the TED talk by Ryder Carroll who claims to be the “inventor” of bullet journaling. I also subscribed to his YouTube channel and website. I found his logic to be valid, and his system seems to be the most practical. This is one I am trying to follow as I feel it will be most beneficial for me.

I have also started following several YouTube channels, primarily by young women who create bullet journals. I’m learning about washi tape and seeing all the different types of pages you can create, decorate, and track everything you do from dawn to dusk. Whilst I love watching these videos, I just don’t see myself ever having the time or inclination to do this.

They look so pretty, but I’m not sure that spending so much time on the flourishes would work for me. I feel this could be a way to avoid doing the tasks I need to do.
