How do I manage stress?

I read a lot and ignore life.

To be honest, I don’t get stressed very often. I often feel anxious, though. I know that if I don’t deal promptly with my anxiety, it can lead to stressful situations.

Lack of preparation time

I get stressed if I haven’t spent enough time preparing for a webinar. To help myself manage this, I time block my calendar to spend some time each day in preparation. By breaking it down and doing preparation work each day I feel comfortable and ready to confidently deliver an excellent session.

This is the same for all the work I do. When I know what is coming up I can work backwards and put enough time into each day to get ready. This type of consistency works best for me.

Finances

I worry about my personal finances. It stresses me out when my husband starts asking me questions about our budget. Mainly because it is a shared file, and the information is as easily accessed by him as by me. I also feel guilty about my spending and get defensive when he questions my spending. To better manage this, I try to moderate my spending and keep the sheet updated. This way, we have a clear idea of where we are and what expenses we have coming up.
