Journalling — Here’s How I Do It.

I’ve been thinking about what journal(s) I’ll buy for next year. This year, I’ve been consistent in my practice and want to continue. For those of you like me, you might have a bit of a…obsession with notebooks.

I was looking at Unsplash, and there are thousands of pretty pictures of journals and journalling. I decided to take my own picture because journalling isn’t a pretty practice for me. It’s a necessary part of my mental health. While I’d love a beautiful aesthetic, it’s about the substance.

Why do I journal?

Journalling helps me to find sense in my chaotic thoughts. I do several different styles and prompts for specific objectives. I journal in the first part of the day and at the end of my day.

Morning Prompts:

Values

My values are creativity, connection, communication and continuous learning.

I ask myself three questions.

  • Did I live my values yesterday?
  • How can I live my values?
  • What will I do today to live my values?

What I find helpful with this exercise is it helps me to balance my life. Am I including enough activities…
