Essentially, we set ourselves a goal. We then fail to reach our target because life gets in the way. Suddenly don’t have the time or space to get done all we wanted to achieve. We throw our arms up in defeat and decide to do twice as much tomorrow.
The issue with this is that we don’t get double done the next day or even the next. Before we know that novel, we planned to write at 3000 words a day isn’t any closer than it was a week ago. We eventually get to the point where we give up entirely or reset the whole project.
