Why It's Good to Review Your Goals
A monthly review is a helpful practice to help you stay on track.
Last month when I reviewed my goals, I was very disappointed with my lack of progress. This month I’m happy to share is a different story.
What changed?
Not a lot, but a few small tweaks have improved my progress.
Practice writing morning pages
Midway through this month, I started doing morning pages. This activity is helpful in my making my morning more focused. Giving myself time to download my brain onto the page can calm my brain and help me focus on what I want to do in my day.
I have been consistent with my journaling activities, which has slotted into those nicely. I start with the download, then do my gratitude reflection, positive affirmation statement and my feelings and values. My feelings and values help me to plan my day. What is my priority, and what needs to be done so I don’t feel anxious or unfocused?
Practice movement throughout my day
Another activity that I have been trying to do is using a thirty-minute timer for task focus. At the end of the thirty minutes, I move about for a few minutes, then resettle.
